Labyrinth – New album 'Return To Heaven Denied Pt.2'

Labyrinth’s new effort features guitarist and mastermind Olaf Thorsen back on board and the band sticking to their Power Metal roots. Produced by Olaf Thorsen himself and Labyrinth and mastered by Mika Jussila at renowned Finnvox Studios, Helsinki (Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, HIM), 'Return To Heaven Denied Pt.2' is without doubt the album that every fan of powerful and melodic music was waiting for and has already been described as a powerful, technically challenging and melodically enthralling piece of music. Royal Hunt – New signing and new album 'X'
Legendary Danish hard rock/prog metal band Royal Hunt have signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the European release of their new album ‘X’. After selling 1.5 million albums and touring the world numerous times, the band’s still going strong, with André Andersen, keyboardist and main composer since day one, heading back to the roots of Rock with a brand new, astonishing 70´s inspired album. Here’s how Andersen himself commented the event: “This album came out of our love for the 70´s music (tagged as Classic Rock nowadays) – from Kansas, Genesis and ELP to Uriah Heep and Deep Purple - music which was/is very adventurous while just a tad naïve at the same time (as some might say). We all are notoriously resistant to categorize it in any way, form or shape, but (if hard pressed) would go as far as saying that it’s definitely much more hard rock than metal and if by ‘progressive’ you might mean some odd time signatures here and there as well as random key changes – sure, there’re tons of them here… as well as really basic, simple stuff – so go figure.” The album will be released in June 2010 and “If you’re into pre-MTV, pre-computer/digital but pure quality rock – this thing’s been tailor made for you!” Check out the latest news on www.royalhunt.com or www.myspace.com/royalhuntmusic
Sadist – New signing and new album 'Season In Silence'
Scarlet Records has signed a licensing deal with Live Global for the worldwide release of Sadist's long-waited new album 'Season In Silence'.
Sadist is one of Europe's finest death metal bands, having released genre-defining milestones such as 'Above The Light' (1993) and 'Tribe' (1996) and having taken part in some of the biggest international metal events (including Wacken Open Air, Metal Camp, Gods Of Metal and several tours with Carcass, Blind Guardian, Samael and Amon Amarth among others). 'Season In Silence' is the confirmed title for the band's brand-new album, an exciting journey through the darkest side of the Human Mind based on a "freezing" concept on the coldest season of the year (the beautiful artwork was handled by nerve Design). The album has already been described as the heaviest and most technical in the entire band's career, confirming Sadist as one of the greatest techno death metal bands ever among Cynic, Atheist and Pestilence. A long tour will follow the release of the album, including various festival appearances in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and many more to be confirmed. Kingcrow - New signing and new album 'Phlegethon'
Formed back in 1996, Kingcrow is one of the leading Italian progressive metal bands, taking its name from Edgar Allan Poe's poem 'Raven' and inspired by a wide range of musical influences, spanning from classic acts such as Pink Floyd and Rush to modern day prog giants such as Porcupine Tree, Riverside, Opeth, Orphaned Land and Dream Theater. 'Phlegethon' is the confirmed title for the band's new effort, following the critically acclaimed concept-album 'Timetropia', which secured them enthusiastic reviews in the international press and several high profile gigs at big rock/metal events including Gods Of Metal (alongside Iron Maiden and Judas Priest among others) and Evolution festival (alongside Sebastian Bach, Virgin Steele and Fates Warning among others). 'Phlegethon' is a brand-new concept representing the very best of the band's musical approach and features a first class performance by Diego Marchesi, singer with outstanding vocal skills and an emotional approach which consolidated Kingcrow as one of the most exciting bands that Italy has to offer. The album is expected to be released in may 2010 on Scarlet Records. More info on www.kingcrow.it and www.myspace.com/kingcrowband.
Wuthering Heights – New signing and new album 'Salt'
Formed back in the beginning of the nineties, Wuthering Heights started to draw attention from the Denmark scene to the entire world. Their brilliant epos of majestic and symphonic speed power metal with progressive and folk roots became the trademark of their entire discography. Their previous albums were very well received by fans and media and solidified Wuthering Heights' status as one of the most interesting bands to emerge on the international heavy metal scene in recent years. Finally, after three years of silence, the band is back with a brand-new album, the 5th in their outstanding career, titled ‘Salt’ and set to be released on the 12th April on Scarlet Records. Featuring the same line-up as seen on ‘The Shadow Cabinet’, Erik and the boys have created an epic album which is undoubtedly their strongest to date. While writing its lyrics, Erik discovered that the imagery of the sea was a perfect setting for his dark tales of personal and global armageddon. And consequently the music has traded some of its celtic delicacy for the rawness of the sailor´s tunes. Never before the end of the world has sounded this uplifting. Disdain – New signing and debut album 'Leave This World'
Disdain, from Gothenburg, Sweden, is without doubt one of the most exciting bands you will happen to hear this year. Their music is full of life, with choruses that really wake you up, but which are counterbalanced with deep lyrics, heavy and dark enough to suit even the most evil ones of you out there! Watch out, cause the power of this machinery is about to be let out in a world-resounding roar with their debut album 'Leave this World', due early February 2010 on Scarlet Records. Their wide range of influences include bands such as Iced Earth, Sonata Arctica, Nocturnal Rites, Metallica, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames and many more, but it's life in general that inspires this kick-ass quintet’s music, which often deals with subjects such as escaping difficult situations by fighting your way through them, thinking on your own and being resourceful individuals when hard times come. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in cooperation with renowned Studiomega in Varberg, Sweden (Tiamat, Katatonia, Sonic Syndicate, Beseech, Lake Of Tears), and includes very special guest appearances by Swedish guitar wizard Mattias "IA" Eklundh and former Lost Horizon singer Daniel Heiman. Royal Jester – New signing and debut album ‘Night Is Young’
March 2010 will see Scarlet Records releasing Royal Jester's debut album 'Night is Young'. The band formed in 2008 in Sweden and straight from the start rehearsed a lot, played dozens of live shows and wrote lots of songs. They soon contacted Per Nilsson of Scar Symmetry and the band's debut album was recorded at his Studio Kabyss. Later it was mixed in Black Lounge Studio by Jonas Kjellgren, also from Scar Symmetry. Royal Jester is a modern power metal band that mixes speedy intense power metal with other elements to get a wide array of arrangements. Lyrical themes can also differ much from song to song, as well as musical influences. Let's say that fans of bands such as Helloween, Gamma Ray, Nocturnal Rites and Edguy will surely find something appealing enough! The Jester is hungry, energetic and ready to spread their word through the entire world! Expect a band to count on! For more info you can visit www.myspace.com/royaljestermetal
