Started in 2003 by Stefano Longhi (drums) and Massimo Gajer (Guitars), Allhelluja quickly became one of European most promising heavy rock newcomers with the addition of charismatic frontman Jacob Bredahl (already singer of the latest extreme metal explosion Hatesphere).
Roberto Gelli (bass) completed the line-up and a few years after, it was May 2005, ‘Inferno Museum’, the stunning debut album, was ready to see the light. ‘Inferno Museum’ features 10 tracks described as an explosive mix of Entombed, Motorhead, and Kyuss! Dirty Rockin’ metal at its best, featuring a diabolical lyrical concept inspired by Derek Raymond’s ‘Dead Man Upright’, a real psycho-sex serial killer masterpiece. It shouldn’t surprise the fact that many well-known metal labels (such as Roadrunner) were interested in the band immediately after listening the first demos. But the guys finally agreed to sign a deal with Scarlet and that was the perfect choice to do: Allhelluja became one of the label’s top-priority artists and ‘Inferno Museum’ a world-successful release, collecting amazing reviews in many important magazines such as Terrorizer, Metal Maniacs, Decibel, Rock Hard and metal Hammer and high-profile comparisons to artists like Down, Unsane, Raging Speedhorn, Gluecifer and Black Sabbath! That’s definitely something to be proud of for a new band who was able to offer a powerful and groovy sound without forgetting the stoner and heavy roots.
Allhelluja's second album ‘Pain Is The Game’ was released all over the world in September 2006. Mixed again in Jacob’s own studios Smart 'n Hard and mastered by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Heaven Shall Burn, Mnemic…), 'Pain Is The Game' gained an amazing feedback, once again, from every mag, website and radio station out there. 'Pain Is The Game' is a devastating, disturbing and violent 'stoner-groovy-metal' album with bone-breakin' songs! Or if you prefer... a fast and furious race on the highway to hell! No surprise that respected metal mags like Metal Hammer and Metal Shock dedicated their front covers to the band. And last, but definetely not least, Allhelluja was voted "best Italian band" by the readers of Metal Hammer later that year.
In 2007 both 'Inferno Museum' and 'Pain Is The Game', due to the overwhelming demand, were reissued in a limited edition collectors box-set, including various gadgets.
But it's now time to announce Allhelluja's third, long-waited effort, set to be released in March 2009, again on Scarlet Records. The new album, 'Breath Your Soul', is a sonic apocalypse rising from the most brutal and corrosive Death & Roll with groovy Stoner/Doom influences and the usual Horror-Gloomy blast! New, talented musicians have been added the ranks of the band: Trevor (Sadist) and GL Perotti (Extrema) on vocals and Tommy Massara (Extrema) on guitars in the place of singer Jacob Bredahl and guitarist Massimo Gajer. Here’s how drummer Stefano Longhi commented the event: “Finally Allhelluja are coming back and I can say that with this album we’ve reached our best potential. The legacy of the band is strenghten by our friendship, our humility and, mostly, our crazy talent, making ‘Breath Your Soul’ something really unique. Roby (Gelli, bass) and I, along with Tommy, have worked for months on the new songs, giving justice to the sonic assault that makes Allhelluja such a diverse act from anything else around. And what can I say about Trevor and GL… Those guys simply are what we needed to close the circle! I think that Allhelluja is, in this particular moment, a very ‘strange’ mix of bands such as Entombed, Carcass, Black Sabbath, Corrosion Of Conformity, Kyuss, Down, Mastodon and Slipknot. Jacob and I have decided to part our ways to be able to concentrate in a better way on our busy lives… Jacob can now focus himself on Last Mile and I can do the same with Allhelluja, in total freedom, without compromising the friendship that still exists among us. Allhelluja will never delude all the people who’ve supported us till this moment!” Confirmed titles for the new songs are ‘Face To Face With The Devil’, ‘The Bible Babylon’, ‘The Eve Of Despair’, ‘I Will Rise Again’, ‘Bloodtrip’, ‘My Medicine’, ‘I'm The Zero’, ‘Step By Step’, ‘The Black Jar’, ‘Into My Head’, with the addition of cover versions of classic songs such as ‘21st Century Schizoid Man’ (King Crimson), ‘Into The Void’ (Black Sabbath) and ‘Profondo Rosso’ (Goblin), reaching a total duration of 70 minutes. The artwork was once again handled by renowned artist/director Chad Michael Ward (Marilyn Manson, Billy Idol, Slash, Fear Factory). Stay tuned for more updates! |
