The basic thing about Bokor is that they were people who knew each other a bit, some of them had a history of playing together before but there was a time when they thought "Ok, let's get together and play some wicked stuff, do strange things, do whatever we feel like... really use all the creativity and talent we have." That’s basically it. Bokor is one of those bands who look into their own heads and other stuff than music for inspiration, that’s what makes Bokor pretty hard to label. They’d like to keep a little mystique around… They’re not "your nextdoor generic death/thrash band", without trying to sound too pretentious. They like to think that music business right now is very open for bands that dare to experiment a little, to go their own ways. They like to look into the details of everything, always twisting them a bit... messing things up, then putting them back together in new but still slightly disturbing way, yet still accessible. Try to think at a sort of mixture of very unique bands such as Tool, Mastodon, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Anathema and System Of A Down and you’ll get an idea of what Bokor sound like. After the amazing success of the debut album,‘Anomia 1’, finally the new chapter of the Bokor saga is ready. And 'Vermin Soul' is the confirmed title for the new masterpiece. New blood, talent, experience and energy came from new drummer Daniel Melo and guitarist Jimmy Larsén. Reluctantly written, recorded and produced by the band itself at Realtime Recording with the soundcrafting, editing and mixing skills of Daniel Gese. Artwork, guest vocals and inspiring ideas came from the immense talent of Valentin Mellström. Rhodes piano and Hammond once again played by Niclas Kinnander. A directive for the Ghost Stories to end spoken by Marielle Martinz of Misty. 'Vermin Soul' can be described in very simple words: "More of everything". In the band's own words: "A frequent question in the interviews for our last record was if it was a theme-album. No, it wasn’t. This album may be. Indeed, all children know where spiders come from. After all, the roaches, rats, mosquitoes and woodlice will survive in the end. And that’s a soothing thought." Again it’s time for a change. It’s time for Bokor.
