Oceans Of Sadness from De Kempen, Belgium, started out in 1995 and drew inspiration from bands such as Type O Negative, Amorphis and Paradise Lost. In 2001 the band signed a deal with Belgian LSP Records, followed by the release of ‘For We Are’ (2001) and ‘Laughing Tears, Crying Smile’ (2002). In support of their second album the band opened up for Within Temptation and Dimmu Borgir. Over the years Oceans Of Sadness has found a larger audience by performing at festivals such as Dynamo Open Air and Biebob Metalfest as well as numerous shows at Graspop Metal Meeting. In 2004 their third album, ‘Send In The Clowns’ was released on Apache Productions and at the beginning of 2007 the band signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the release of the new album ‘Mirror Palace’, produced and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and mixed by Thomas Eberger (Opeth, 69 Eyes, The Hives).

September 2008 will see Oceans Of sadness releasing their new album, 'The Arrogance Of Ignorance', once again produced by Jens Bogren and featuring very special guest appearances by Johan Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy, Hearse) and Annlouice Loegdlund (Diablo Swing Orchestra). Artwork was handled by Greek artist Seth Siro (Paradise Lost, Oceansize, Moonspell). This album is clearly the synthesis of years of hard work and fine-tuning the sound of Oceans Of Sadness and if their music was difficult to be labelled already in the past, prepare yourself for this new, diverse metal madness, which might even set some new standards in metal music. Listen to this album as you would taste a fine wine... take your time and focus on every aspect of what you hear. Experience how these songs become richer with each listening until they are like a second skin!
