Slowmotion Apocalypse started playing with the current line up in 2002, gathering together members from two different bands: Slapsticks and To Die For. After their first demo CD, their debut album 'My Own Private Armageddon' placed them into the worldwide metal map. Recorded at the mighty Fear Studios with superb production by Riccardo Pasini (Ephel Duath, Extrema, Reprisal, The Secret) and mastered by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me), 'My Own Private Armageddon' is a vibrant and sonically focused assault on the current mindlessness within the metal community. Combining in equal parts Swedish influenced death metal, metal-core and old school thrash, Slowmotion Apocalypse execute their songs with stunning precision and an unfiltered ferocity. These qualities, along with a stunning stage presence, led the band to share the stage with such prominent acts as Graveworm, Converge, The Great Deceiver, Deadlock, Fear My Thoughts, Every Time I Die, Nine, Rage, Raised Fist, Stormwitch, Ektomorf, Reprisal and countless others.
In May 2007 Slowmotion Apocalypse released their second full length effort, ‘Obsidian’. Recorded by Riccardo Pasini at Studio 73 and by Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi) at dB Studio and mixed and produced by Ettore Rigotti, the album features guest vocals by the mighty Tomas Lindberg (ex-At The Gates, The Great Deceiver), Gianluca “GL” Perotti (Extrema) and Claudio Ravinale (Disarmonia Mundi). All artwork was processed by The Apartment (SickGirl.it, Vanilla Sky, The Fire, Out Of Project, Forty Winks, K-again). Obsidian was released worldwide through Scarlet Records on May 2007 and in June the band appeared at Italy’s biggest metal event, the Gods Of Metal festival, with renowned acts such as Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Megadeth, Black Label Society, Type O Negative, Sadist and Deathstars.
But is now time for the band’s ferocious come back. ‘Mothra’ is the confirmed title for Slowmotion Apocalypse’s brand-new third studio album, expected early next fall again on Scarlet Records. Recorded and mixed by Andreas Magnusson (Black Dahlia Murder, The Agony Scene) at Planet Red Studios in Richmond, Virginia, and mastered by Alan Douches (Misfits, Mastodon, Converge, As I Lay Dying) at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York, ‘Mothra’ is without doubt the band’s finest and most ambitious work to date, an explosive mix of crunchy guitars, powerful beats and abrasive vocals in the vein of bands such as Entombed, Hatebreed and Converge. After having shared the stage with some of the most respectable names in metal (Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Megadeth, Black Label Society, Type O Negative, As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through, Caliban and The Haunted to name a few), Slowmotion Apocalypse are ready to expand their boundaries once more. ‘Mothra’ includes special guest appearances by Mike Terry (Bury Your Dead) and Matthew Rudzinski (Killwhitneydead). Artwork duties were handled by Seldon Hunt (Neurosis, Isis, The Ocean). |
