Kill Ritual - New signing and debut album 'The Serpentine Ritual'
Formed in late 2010 by former Imagika lead guitarist Steven Rice and drummer Wayne DeVecchi, Kill Ritual is completed by former Eldritch guitarist Roberto Proietti, former Dark Angel bassist Danyael Williams and Bay Area vocalist Josh Gibson. Kill Ritual have signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the release of their debut album ‘The Serpentine Ritual’, which finds the band unleashing 11 tracks of straight-up metal that is both modern and classic while retaining the legacy of their past bands. The album was recorded and engineered by Kill Ritual lead guitarist Steve Rice at Fang Studios in San Mateo, CA and Fossil Sound in San Jose, CA. Mix and Mastering was done by Andy LaRocque of King Diamond fame at his Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden. LaRocque also makes a guest appearance on the CD with the ending solo on the track ‘Coat Of Blood’.
Commented Steven: “After the demise of Imagika, Wayne and I decided to form a new band that would bring life to the music we had been working on after Imagika called it a day. We had a goal in mind of writing music that reflected our influences from Thrash, to Classic, Progressive, Power, whatever-kicks-ass Metal and this required bringing in experienced players that have been there and done that. We were lucky enough to come in contact with Roberto and Danyael, who had the kind of pedigree and experience we were definitely looking for. Having both been in bands that have released numerous albums worldwide and toured extensively, they are a perfect fit for this new band. The missing element was, of course, vocalist Josh, who came into the band with the work ethic, experience and attitude that is essential as a vocalist to help the songs take on a life of their own. His unique and identifiable vocal style is the change we needed from our past projects as we definitely had the idea of Kill Ritual taking a new direction from our collective past bands and I think we have achieved that. I mean, what's the point of rehashing what you've already done?”
Whyzdom - New signing and new album 'Blind?'
Following the acclaimed debut ‘From The Brink Of Infinity’, Whyzdom have signed a deal with Scarlet Records and are proud to present ‘Blind?’, their new album. The band, which is known for their own signature approach to Symphonic Metal, blend once more intricate orchestral parts (including all the subtleties of strings, winds, brass, classical percussions, piano, harp etc.) and a real choir with the power of Heavy Metal. Through a coherence that hides the inherent complexity of this genre, Elvyne Lorient’s passionate melodies immediately stick into your mind, conveying pure emotions right from the very first note she sings. The album title not only refers to the blindness of people towards what’s happening around them, but also to the fact that we, as humans, often deliberately choose to be blind in many uncomfortable circumstances, which eventually lead us on the wrong path of life. ‘Blind?’ was produced by Vynce Leff, recorded and mixed in Paris at Powermania Studio and mastered by Mathieu Gillon and Vynce Leff at 120dB Studio. The stunning artwork is the result of a collaboration between X-Nihilo Design, Les Créations Vultus and Florent Cuaz, who gave real life to Whyzdom’s visual universe.

For the first time I made the songs without thinking that I have to do a goth ballad or a rock song. We just did things more spontaneously and it led to an album that is a lot more dark, ambitious and multi-dimensional than its predecessors. We’ve also paid a lot more attention to the lyrics and the production, which is much more dynamic. It will be awesome to go and play these new tunes to people, we've really waited this moment for so long.”

Labyrinth – Retrospective album 'As Time Goes By...' and European tour
2011 marks Italian power metal pioneers Labyrinth's 20 Year Anniversary and the band celebrates the occasion with the release of the restrospective album 'As Time Goes By...', containing their classics plus 2 bonus tracks, the acoustic version of ‘A Midnight Autumn's Dream’ and the cover version of Yngwie Malmsteen’s ‘You Don't Remember and I'll Never Forget’. February 24th 2011 saw the band embarking on a full European tour with Finnish power metallers Sonata Arctica.
“I have very fond memories of that year 1991. It all started out with an idea by Olaf Thorsen and like every young band, all we wanted to do was rock out in our practice room, hoping to develop our passion into something more. What is now a rare green cassette, 'Midnight Resistance', soon became our very first recording. Since then, we've experienced all the ups and downs of being in a band, through critically-acclaimed albums, fan recognition, line-up changes, personal issues and hundreds of gigs played in almost every corner of the world. This new release is, first of all, our own way to look back at things and put them in prospective. We just wanted to trace back our career and try to realize how much we have done and how much we still want to achieve. We also wanted to take a little rest before this new, exciting chapter of our lives and career, the European tour with Sonata Arctica, in support of our latest release ‘Return To Heaven Denied Pt. 2 - A Midnight Autum's Dream’. But we couldn't do all this on our own, and here comes the real reason why we wanted to put out this new release: make sure you will be part of Labyrinth's history once again. We still have a long way to go.”

Royal Hunt – New signing and new album 'X'
Legendary Danish hard rock/prog metal band Royal Hunt have signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the European release of their new album ‘X’. After selling 1.5 million albums and touring the world numerous times, the band’s still going strong, with André Andersen, keyboardist and main composer since day one, heading back to the roots of Rock with a brand new, astonishing 70´s inspired album. Here’s how Andersen himself commented the event: “This album came out of our love for the 70´s music (tagged as Classic Rock nowadays) – from Kansas, Genesis and ELP to Uriah Heep and Deep Purple - music which was/is very adventurous while just a tad naïve at the same time (as some might say). We all are notoriously resistant to categorize it in any way, form or shape, but (if hard pressed) would go as far as saying that it’s definitely much more hard rock than metal and if by ‘progressive’ you might mean some odd time signatures here and there as well as random key changes – sure, there’re tons of them here… as well as really basic, simple stuff – so go figure.” The album will be released in June 2010 and “If you’re into pre-MTV, pre-computer/digital but pure quality rock – this thing’s been tailor made for you!” Check out the latest news on or

Revolution Renaissance - New signing and new album 'Age Of Aquarius'

Revolution Renaissance, the new band of the Stratovarius mastermind Timo Tolkki has signed a worldwide deal for one album with Scarlet Records. The last weeks have kept Tolkki and his band members busy putting finishing touches to the band’s first real debut album entitled ‘Age Of Aquarius’. Recorded over three months in Finland, it is by far the darkest, heaviest and most symphonic album that Tolkki has ever been involved in. Finding a close connection with his new band members Gus Monsanto and Bruno Agra, the trio locked itself in a cabin in Finland for a month and composed ten new songs. It is the first time during Tolkki’s career that he shared the whole songwriting process with other band members. “I just felt this incredibly fresh vibe with these guys and the songs were just flowing. It was so natural process that it almost felt like the songs were already composed and we just let them be born. It was possible because in Gus and Bruno I finally have found the kindred spirits I have been looking for so long. The results were something that none of us were expecting and yet at the same time, we felt that this record is exactly the way it is supposed to be”, comments Tolkki. The release date of ‘Age Of Aquarius’ is 25 March 2009 in South East Asia (JVC) and 9 March 2009 in the rest of the world. The band also filmed a promotional video in Helsinki for the title track of the album.
Tracklist: ‘The Age Of Aquarius’, ‘So She Wears Black’, ‘Ixion’s Wheel’, ‘Kyrie Eleison’, ‘Revolution Has Begun’, ‘Sins Of My Beloved’, ‘Behind The Mask’, ‘Ghost Of Fallen Grace’, ‘Children Of The Future’ and ‘The Heart Of All’. The tours are currently been booked to promote ‘Age Of Aquarius’ worldwide and are planned to start from South America in early April.
Scarlet Records will also release Timo Tolkki’s third solo album, the ethereal classical Rock Opera ‘Saana-Warrior Of Light Part 1’ worldwide on 23 January 2009.

Allhelluja - New line-up and new album 'Breath Your Soul' almost ready!
Allhelluja are busy in the studio in Milan completing their new album, a sonic apocalypse rising from the most brutal and corrosive Death & Roll with groovy Stoner/Doom influences and the usual Horror-Gloomy blast! ‘Breath Your Soul’, the confirmed title of the new effort, which is going to be released in March 2009 on Scarlet Records, adds new, talented musicians to the ranks of the band: Trevor (Sadist) and GL Perotti (Extrema) on vocals and Tommy Massara (Extrema) on guitars in the place of singer Jacob Bredahl and guitarist Massimo Gajer. Here’s how drummer Stefano Longhi commented the event: “Finally Allhelluja are coming back and I can say that with this album we’ve reached our best potential. The legacy of the band is strenghten by our friendship, our humility and, mostly, our crazy talent, making ‘Breath Your Soul’ something really unique. Roby (Gelli, bass) and I, along with Tommy, have worked for months on the new songs, giving justice to the sonic assault that makes Allhelluja such a diverse act from anything else around. And what can I say about Trevor and GL… Those guys simply are what we needed to close the circle! I think that Allhelluja are, in this particular moment, a very ‘strange’ mix of bands such as Entombed, Carcass, Black Sabbath, Corrosion Of Conformity, Kyuss, Down, Mastodon and Slipknot. Jacob and I have decided to part our ways to be able to concentrate in a better way on our busy lives… Jacob can now focus himself on Last Mile and I can do the same with Allhelluja, in total freedom, without compromising the friendship that still exists among us. Allhelluja will never delude all the people who’ve supported us till this moment!” Confirmed titles for the new songs are ‘Face To Face With The Devil’, ‘The Bible Babylon’, ‘The Eve Of Despair’, ‘I Will Rise Again’, ‘Bloodtrip’, ‘My Medicine’, ‘I'm The Zero’, ‘Step By Step’, ‘The Black Jar’, ‘Into My Head’, with the addition of cover versions of classic songs such as ‘21st Century Schizoid Man’ (King Crimson), ‘Into The Void’ (Black Sabbath) and ‘Profondo Rosso’ (Goblin), reaching a total duration of 70 minutes. Extra-cool updates from the studio will follow soon!

Vision Divine - Fabio Lione is the new singer of the band
Italian melodic power metallers Vision Divine, the brainchild of ex-Labyrinth mastermind Olaf Thörsen, have issued the following statement:
“We are very happy and proud to finally announce that Fabio Lione has just joined the Vision Divine Family again.
He's the most natural choice for us, and the first person we thought about, ‘cause Fabio is a wonderful singer and a very special friend.
Fabio, along with Olaf, created Vision Divine 10 years ago, he wrote wonderful melodies for the first three albums (from the debut ‘Vision Divine’ up to the high acclaimed ‘Stream Of Consciousness’).
Just to be clear, Fabio is fully involved with the band, not as session musician but as an official member of the line-up, including recording sessions, live shows and tours.
We apologize for how long it took to give you this news, but we all wanted to make things properly in order not to give illusions to anybody nor to do some wrong move.
Now it's official: Fabio will be on stage with the band starting from June 20th (Morarock) and he's already working to our new album, which recordings are scheduled starting from August 11th. We know that every time there's a change in our line-up somebody gets concerned and fears that things could go wrong; every time there are gossips around the names and the reasons why things have happened. As always, we let fact talk on behalf of the band, and so far facts always told we were right making the best decision in order to let Vision Divine grow up as it deserves…
We would like to spend some words for you guys who supported us through the years: your friendship arrived to us from all around the world, and we want to dedicate our new album to all of you, who never lost your faith in us. Once again, we are sure you won't regret.
Stay Divine, see you in tour.”

Schizo - Line-up changes
Italian extreme metal veterans Schizo have just announced that former bassist and mainman Alberto Penzin is no longer a member of the band. This is what AP himself has to say regarding his departure, as well as guitarist S.B. Reder…

“I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m going to say but I finally came to the very sad conlusion that I need to step out of the band. I’m very proud of all we have slowly accomplished in over two decades of activity but nowadays I don’t feel for Schizo the same type of emotional involvement I felt when we released ‘Total Schizophrenia’ and, specially, ‘Main Frame Collapse’. I need to rediscover my roots, both musically and in a more personal way. My feelings are still close to that moment in time, and I just want to follow that vibe, which is not possible with the group's current incarnation. No regrets or any kind of dispute with the other members of the band. I just prefer to leave. And soon you will see me, along with my true friend and partner in crime S.B. Reder and Necrodeath's drummer Peso, coming back with my former project Mondocane. But that’s another story…
Last but not least, I would really like to thank all of the fans and friends that supported me and keep on supporting our music. See you soon then, just on different shores. As someone says: that which does not kill us makes us stronger..."
Alberto P.

“I respect Alberto’s decision in the strongest way. Friendship is way more important than music itself. And I will proudly go on making music with Schizo in the best way I can. And in the same way I will put all of myself in Mondocane…"
S.B. Reder

Spice And The RJ Band is the name of a new, exciting project featuring vocalist/songwriter Spice (Kayser, ex-Spiritual Beggars) and drummer Bob Ruben (Kayser, The Mushroom River Band), which will release its debut album ‘The Will’ in October on Scarlet Records. The band is driven by an insane passion for ‘70s psychedelic/soul/blues/hard rock sound that never went by. Here’s what Spice itself has to say about this:
“Spice And The RJ Band is my solo band. The “R” stands for “Bob Ruben” and the “J” stands for “Johann”. Johann is an old friend and an ex-roadie of a band I used to play with a couple of years ago. About a year ago I opened an old door which led into other doors… which I decided to walk through… What I´m trying to say is, that instead of seeking riff I wanted my fingers to play, I started to let the music lead me. No genre orientated. I just let it all come out. In all kinds of beautiful shapes.”

Necrodeath - New Album 'Draculea'
Black-thrash metal heroes Necrodeath are ready to come back with a brand new studio album, following the highly acclaimed ‘100% Hell’ and after a 25-year-long career which established them as one of the prominent acts in the European extreme metal scene. ‘Draculea’ will be the title of the new album, which is scheduled to be released in October on Scarlet Records. Here’s what former drummer Peso had to say about that:
“Immediately after the recording sessions for ‘100% Hell’ I began composing some new material, but it was in November 2006 that I realized that Necrodeath had to come back with a new record, some new material capable to improve our sound without losing our typical trademark. That’s why I had the idea to write a concept based on Vlad Tepes’ life, finding the inspiration on some books I’ve been reading recently. Every song will have its particular meaning and there will be a wide range of influences upon this new record. Pier from Labyrinth will be handling the guitar duties, with us being still in search for a permanent guitar player, and, of course, this means that the whole record will be influenced by Pier’s extraordinary style, with lots of great solos, for the first time in the band’s career. Flegias and John are also putting a lot of efforts in this record, you can be sure that everybody will notice that. Last thing is that I also came out with a definitive title for the record: ‘Draculea’. Stay tuned!”
Malfeitor - New signing and debut album 'Unio Mystica Maxima'

Malfeitor, featuring Fabban (Aborym) signed a 1-album-deal with Scarlet Records, the label who launched the first two Aborym albums, ‘Kali Yuga Bizarre’ (1999) e ‘Fire Walk With Us’ (2001), as M.Fabban himself explains:
“I know Scarlet’s crew since 1997, they know how to launch a newborn piece of evil like Malfeitor. We received lots of interesting offers in order to put some inch on paper, but Scarlet is a well organized and well structured label, they’ve been in the scene for many years. They will do a cool job for us. No doubts”.
The debut full-lenght will be out in September 2007 both in CD and vinyl LP formats. The confirmed title is ‘Unio Mystica Maxima’, 9 tracks of mind-crushing, freezing, obscure and weird Luciferian Black Metal! Here’s the tracklist:

Adveniat Infernus (INTRO)
Rex Bestia Fera
In This Place Forever
Unio Mystica Maxima

The artwork of the album, currently under-construction, was created by Fabban itself, and the front cover of both the CD and LP versions by Marcelo HVC (Poisoned To Reality, Brazil).
Before the full-lenght’s release in September, Malfeitor will release a special hand-numbered 666 copies limited edition split 7” EP with the norwegian band Amok (feat. Goatpromoter Lava, ex Taake) through War Arts Production (Portugal).
